Marr's Furniture Removals Pty Ltd are true removal professionals, with a fleet of vehicles that travel over 1 000 000 km every year. It is our professional approach that has built up an enviable reputation that has kept us going from strength to strength since 1965. It is this enviable reputation that has lead Marr's Furniture Removals Pty Ltd to become one of the largest Family owned Removalists in Queensland, and an approved Government transport supplier and a regular transport supplier to major Commercial Bedding companies and new corporate office fit out Firms.

Founded in July 1965 by Alan Marr and his 2 sons, Danny and Patrick. With an interest in trucks, a little bit of knowledge and a lot of hard work and common sense the company soon grew to a fleet of over 50 vehicles. There were 2 arms to Marr Carrying Service Pty Ltd (as the company was called at the time.) a general freight division and a new furniture and relocation division. 

Marr's Carrying Service Pty Ltd predominantly served customers up and down the Eastern seaboard from Melbourne to Cairns and in Queensland west to Moranbah, Dysart and Emerald (these towns during the early 70's were not much more than BHP / Utah mining camps, housing mine workers to the newly developed Bowen Basin, a supermarket and a pub. These 3 towns are now major Central Queensland commercial, financial and cultural hubs and have played a major part in the prosperity and growth of Queensland in the last 40 years).

During the 80's with the fleet approaching 80 vehicles, it was decided to let the general arm of the business go, so the 3 partners who have always been extremely hands on operators could enjoy a better quality of life. This was sold to McAleese Transport, another Queensland transport icon. Then with approximately 30 vehicles they concentrated on Local distribution work and New Furniture and relocation work. The early 90's brought more changes with one of the Brothers, Patrick deciding that he would like to pursue some other interests, Danny's son Alan Jnr joining the company as a storeman and the sale of the local distribution work. This sale came about due to Danny's desire to build the Furniture side of the business and the high maintenance and low profits of the distribution work.

Today Alan Marr snr, at 89 years young, still comes in to work to help out and consults as needed. Danny's Daughter Jodie has also joined the company, so as you can see a real family affair. Now with 20 vehicles, depots on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Mount Isa, as well as a National Network of contacts built up over 43 years, we can offer you the professional, experienced relocation you expect, from anywhere to anywhere.
